Savannah Southern Belle

This summer Savannah Southern Belle went on several SC adventures with her Mighty Girl friends.  She enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Lake Bowen & Carowinds.  The Mighty Girls shared their experiences by creating postcards to send back home to their friends. We can't wait to learn more about our amazing state that we live in this year!

Summer Reading Challenge

While many of us were enjoying the lazy days of summer, several Mighty Girls were hard at work meeting the Summer Reading Challenge.  Some girls read books and completed their OES treasure map.  Others chose to read 3 chapter books from the 3rd grade summer reading list and complete an activity.  Congratulations girls on a job well done!

The Mighty Girls would like to wish Sully Barfield & Zinnia Gomez, who celebrated their birthday in July, a very Happy Birthday!  We hope all your wishes come true!

Meeting Our Big Sisters!

On Friday the Mighty Girls were thrilled to get to meet their Big Sisters from 4th grade.  The older girls will serve as mentors & supporters of their Little Sisters throughout the year.  Each Mighty Girl received a special letter from their Big Sister to get to know her a little better.  We are looking forward to having a monthly morning meeting together and collaborating with each other!

We Are Mighty Girls!!

This week we read several mentor texts about Mighty Girls.  Through characters like Lucy & Monique, we learned that Mighty Girls are unique, determined, thoughtful & not afraid to take risks.  Each girl created her own rock fish with an inspirational message for encouragement during the year.  When we have struggles & failures this year, we will have each other for support and grow from our experiences!

Bon Voyage

On Monday, the Mighty Girls said "goodbye" to summer and "hello" to an exciting new school year!  We had a great time getting to know each other by playing Girl Hunt, Lollipop Buddies & having a Bon Voyage celebration. We also learned about the importance of teamwork through our Saving Freda activity.  It was a fun start to the year and I can't wait to watch them blossom!!
