Our Amazing State
From the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains to the peaceful Carolina shore, our amazing state has so much to offer us. The Mighty Girls enjoyed researching with their team to become an expert on their assigned region. After learning about the landforms, natural resources, industries and major cities of their region, they shared their findings with their fellow classmates. Through this activity, we quickly came to realize that we are very fortunate to call South Carolina our home!
SC Habitats
During our unit on SC Regions, we were visited by the Upstate Watershed Ecology Center. Mrs. Campbell reviewed each region and what an animal needs in their habitat to survive. The girls were then given the task of creating a habitat for a SC animal. They had lots of fun working together to provide their animal with all the necessary components.

Landforms & Water Forms
In science, we have been busy learning about landforms and water forms. We read several interesting books, observed actual landforms from Google Earth and even created our own edible models. To conclude the unit, each student shared what they had learned by creating their own landform/water form project.
Fire Prevention
In observation of fire prevention month, the Boiling Springs Fire Department came for a visit. They reminded us about the importance of having a smoke detector in our homes & an escape plan. We appreciate all of their hard work and dedication to our community.
Cinderella Community Project
As Mighty Girls, we are learning about the importance of trying to make a difference in the world around us. One of the best places to start is in our own community. Sully, Kinsley and Lillian recently took took part in the Cinderella Community Project. We are SO very proud of their hard work and thoughtfulness! Keep up the great work girls!! You are truly Mighty Girls!!
Sully decided to help Mr. Stan, an elderly neighbor, by doing chores for him.
Lillian collected food, toys and litter for our local animal shelter. She loves animals and hopes to be a vet when she grows up.
Kinsley helped out by babysitting her new baby brother so her parents could get some much needed rest!
Mighty Mentors
On Monday we had the exciting opportunity to have a joint Mighty Girl meeting with our big sisters and meet our first Mighty Girl mentor! Sam MacDonald, a realtor from Charlotte, spoke with us about her interesting career, showing kindness to others and who her mentors are. The girls enjoyed asking lots of questions and learned that kindness is one of the most important elements in any job. We are looking forward to meeting our next Mighty Mentor in a few weeks!
